La Choppe

The shop was established in 2014 and is staffed during the season by volunteer shop-keepers. The name comes from the word for shop in Guernesiais  -  Guernsey Norman-French.                                                           

It is stocked with over 1000 wonderful authentic and artistic creations; greeting cards, soaps, candles, bags, toys, jewellery, mugs, T shirts, shell ornaments, home made jams and seeds.

 The items, at least half of which are exclusive to La Choppe, have been made within the Bailiwick of Guernsey by local artisans who have agreed to donate one third of the selling price towards the general running costs of VWKG. (The producers’ skills encompass painting, sewing, knitting, crochet, macramé, glass work, beading , wood carving, Kumihimo -  Japanese braiding, weaving, découpage, printing and preserving.)
