What's Coming Up In The Garden?

The members & volunteers of the Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden invite you to their annual Halloween extravaganza.  

We'll have...

Spookalicious soups, made with produce from the garden, together with other refreshments, including Teas, coffees, soft drinks and delicious homemade cakes.

There will also be Spooky activities for the youngsters in the Creepy Crafting Cavern and searching around the gardens in a Halloween Hunt, as well as an assortment of Ghoulish Games, including guessing the weight of the largest pumpkin grown in the garden this year.  There will also be opportunities to calm the nerves with Petting Rabbits being in the garden throughout the day, and to enjoy entertainment from Belles & Broomsticks who will be performing between 2 and 3 pm.

Please come along and take a look around the recently opened Gatehouse & Learning Centre; La Choppe, in its new location, and enjoy the serenity of the garden in its Autumnal  shroud!

Darkness falls across the Park

The witching hour is looming stark

Creatures crawl in search of soup

To slurp and sup at grizzly gloop

And Belles & Broomsticks shall be found

With all the souls for getting down

But must they face the hounds of hell

And rot inside a compost’s shell

The funk of a garden’s green waste year

And ghoulish games in a Creepy Cavern

With a Halloween Hunt, what worse can happen?   

But you can fight to stay alive

And stroking rabbits will not deprive

For no mere mortal can resist
